Garden

My mother has created this garden as her master work in the "ländliche Hauswirtschaft", a german profession created at the end of the last century, when politicians and scientists tried to teach the wifes of german farmers more about nutrition, householding and other things useful for the women of that time. In the meantime, this profession has lost its former meaning (it still has some for women working for large cuisins in hospitals or similar institutions).

One part of the garden is planted with flowers, from which are these pictures.

Lavender

This picture is very nice. The blue-violett of the lavender makes an imposing contrast to the yellow of other flower in the back. Picture taken in 1992 with my old EOS 500 and the 35-80 mm objectiv on negative film. It was lot of work scanning the old negatives and get rid of all the dust on them - but it was worth it!

Garden Rim

Picture of a blooming bush with a brumble bee on it. Picture also from the 1992 negative film.

???

These flowers are nowadays there, where 8 years ago the lavender was. The picture was taken with the same technique: large aperture and two or three flowers in the focus plane.

Flowers

A real ocean of flowers in autumn 2000.

Chervil

A yellow-blooming kind of chervil was in our garden - but no idea, if it was planted here or if it came by the wind.

Diverse

A small bush and low plants together with roses make up this picture.

Stone

A stone can come to life - not it self, but by delivering a settling place for moss. The stones in our region are basalts of vulcanic origin. They are quite hard and deliver good material for road construction.
